18SIGNS OF HAPPINESS

The starting point are vulgar depictions of genitals drawn on walls. I analyze the change of the meaning of phallus as a symbol. In ancient times it was considered as sacred and identified with power, even drawn on the entrance door as a talisman. However, since the arrival of Christianity in Europe that theme was treated as a source of corruption and often removed from the artworks: obscured, painted over or chipped off. I see it as the part of the body that has been defining a man for centuries, focused attention and aroused many emotions. My intention is to restore its original meaning.
