ALWAYS, STAND BY ME
(PL: TY ZAWSZE PRZY MNIE STÓJ)
2011, neon installation

The work is a result of doubt, solitude and crisis of faith. The text is a part of a Roman Catholic traditional prayer for children, usually a first prayer learned. The work is based on ambiguities: it can be about love confessed to God, but also it can be a confession to a lover. Moreover, these could be words spoken by a human to God, as well as words spoken by God (the light as a symbol of God). Additionally, the ambiguity is underlined by its form: personal message conveyed in hand-written letters is done in neon, associated with the commercial signs and public ways of communication.
