FONTANNA URINA
video performance, 2012
I am exploring contemporary perceptions of the body. My artwork is rooted in memories of childhood games in the bath. The stream depicted could be interpreted by the viewer as representing either cleansing with water or flooding with body fluids typically associated with dirt. My goal is to highlight the ambiguity of the presented situation. Moreover, I am intrigued by how the viewer’s experience and individual thoughts about the body influence the perception of the invisible body in the video. The artwork also delves into taboos surrounding human physiology and cultural contradictions, such as the dual nature of urine – it can be considered healing (urine therapy), desecrating, or even a source of pleasure (urophilia).
